Mrs. Evelyn Holmer Clausen, age 80, of Savannah, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at her residence after an extended illness under the care of Hospice Savannah. She was born in Savannah on January 29, 1946, to the late Lawrence M. Edwards and the late Dorine Gay Edwards. She graduated from Jenkins High School and later moved to Ohio, where she worked as a registered nurse and was married to her first husband, Philip Holmer. She later moved back to Savannah more than twenty years ago and married James "Jim" Clausen. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and being outdoors with her husband. She especially loved spending time with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-five years, James "Jim" Robert Clausen; and a daughter, Katherine Holmer.

Her family includes her daughter, Evelyn Holmer; her cousin, Gay Oldfield and her son, Christopher Jay Oldfield and his wife Vicki and their family. 

The family will hold a service at a later date.
